Another option to consider is to rent a remote Alaska vacation cabin by contacting the US Forest Service or National Park Service. These public agencies are responsible for the many cabins that are located on Alaska's lakes, trails, and coastlines.

They're small cabins that include a heater, bunk beds, and an outhouse. Although it’s quite basic - adventure travelers looking to stay in a wilderness cabin for cheap - only need to bring a few necessary provisions: a cooking stove, utensils, bedding, and water.

Most, if not all of the cabins that we have listed on this page are perfect places to experience what Alaska has to offer. But - you might have to do without Wi-Fi and even the TV for your length of stay.

Most Alaska cabins have a rustic charm to them - making them somewhat different to what you'll find throughout the United States or Canada. Any lack of amenities is always made up with lots of adventure activities and great outdoor sights!
