Atacama Desert Tours - What to Expect

Depending on how enthusiastic you are about hiking, it's important to keep in mind that the altitude in this area ranges from 2800 to 6000 meters. Acclimatization is necessary, and it might take a few days to get used to the thinner air.

With the higher altitude it's also good to pack a few extra necessities like a Down Parka, Sun block, good Hiking Boots and a functional Backpack.

The best time to go to the Atacama Desert is from October to March. Really you can go any time of year that you like.
